To be eligible for financial support to attend an art-song program, applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
Eligible art-song programs are those to which links are provided at the Links tab or programs that are similar in nature, length, and calibre.
Please Note: A high number of ASFC bursaries have recently been distributed to participants of Songfest 2019. Effective March 11, the Foundation regrets that it is no longer receiving applications to the Songfest 2019 program.
All applications to the Art Song Foundation of Canada are made through YAP Tracker.
All applications must include an audition video with two art songs, a letter confirming acceptance into the art-song program applied for, and an itemised budget showing projected expenses to attend the program and any financial assistance received or anticipated. The two songs in the audition video should be accompanied by piano and contrasting in style, language, and tempo. Please cite the name of the pianist in the audition video. (Note: Two songs in the same language are appropriate if applying to specialized program in that language.) Audio-only submissions and opera/oratorio arias are not acceptable.
All those receiving bursaries must provide a brief report to the Foundation after completing the art-song program for which the bursary was awarded Photographs are also welcome and will be posted (with permission) on the Gallery page.
All applications will be adjudicated by the ASFC Board and decisions will be conveyed promptly.
